ASSISTANT MANAGER POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager must support the manager in achieving the gym's goals in terms of sales, customer service, and facility maintenance.  Full-time position with high earning potential in the form of commissions and bonuses.

The assistant must be able to:

  • Maintain a high level of personal production of membership sales.
  • Develop and train the sales team in the presentation of Synergy and other gym procedures.
  • Assist in the coordination of sales efforts including promotions.
  • Support management, corporate office and personal training team.
  • Support and assist the manager in the delivery and evaluation of the work team.
  • Ensure that all staff follow work schedules and plans.
  • Have good communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Review all contracts so that they are correct under the company's rules.
  • Constantly seek out and participate in opportunities to raise customer service levels and increase partner retention.
  • Keeping the gym in optimal conditions of cleanliness and order.
  • Report equipment that is not working or in poor condition.
  • Promote a positive work environment and avoid discord and inappropriate language.
REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years of experience in a managerial role leading work teams towards the achievement of a goal.
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales and customer service.
  • Experience and/or passion for the fitness industry.
  • Availability to work on weekends and in the evenings.
  • High degree of initiative; highly motivated and dynamic person.
  • Sales-oriented and teamwork-oriented.
  • Physical demands include standing serving customers, walking regularly through the club and during events, being able to lift more than 20 pounds to put the weights back on, and moving the equipment as needed.
